Replaced the old dim rusty headlights with new Silverstars. I’m also having trouble with the passenger side turn signal/parking light. The turn signal works. Flashers work. But just having the light on doesn’t. I’ve changed the bulb too. Any idea what the problem is?

I’ve got that same problem with the turn/parking light on my truck. Don’t know what it is so I’m also wondering what’s the cause?

After getting oil level back up to correct levels I was driving it to work for about three days. It was driving great! I parked it for about 3 days and then took it on a short trip to drop my daughter at a Girl Scouts meeting. It was sputtering uphill. Looked at all possible reasons even though to me it feels like the fuel isn't making it to the engine, so my first thoughts were lines gone rusty, or pump in the tank that is working is headed out...could be the filter, the spark-plugs, maybe moisture in the air filter housing, throttle body might need a clean.? Anyhuuse, I got some Seafoam and poured in the suggested oz. per gallon so half a can for 8 gallons in the tank and the truck ran great for that drive. Next ride was just a short one again(2 days ago) to get dog food and it was good until on the way home it sputtered once. Today I cranked it up to take another test ride and it sputtered several times and almost cut out on me several times. When Idle it seems fine but when taking off if you don't go super slow it started to cut in and out of getting fuel, so then straight back to the house and didn't leave the neighborhood. Poured a bit more Seafoam in just taking a shot in the dark and cranked it again. Noticeable sound difference in idle and shaking quite a bit more when put in gear>reverse>drive>park. It's parked now and I don't know if I could even make it to the garage I take it to about 2 miles away. Weighing next steps. Trying to get my nephew to come help diagnose but he is busy with with a lifter went and valve slapping around in his truck.
I’d check your fuel filter. Easy and quick to do.

Just finished up the crossover steering on my rig. Added the panhard bar. OMG! What a difference in control. Even with the 24x14, and 35 15.50 R24s. UNBELIEVABLE!

Got the doner Blazer in the shop to pull the body off... it's a bit cramped in the shop at the moment. Hopefully it won't be long before the body comes off.

Changed the fuel filter in my quest for diagnosis. First time on this truck for me. Fuel filter is on the passenger side, wich is opposite from any of my Eww Toob research had shown(all were on drivers). Also every video I watched must have been on 2x4's cuz my filter was annoyingly close to(behind) the transfer case which made it way more fun. Old filter had a tiny bit of grime, so glad I changed it. Unfortunately no change in performance, still sputtering and not getting enough fuel when hitting the gas on take off. If i take off slowly it drives fine but if I attempt to give it any gas like normal acceleration it sputters and thwamps and doesn't get the juice. So no miracle cure with the filter. I think I will be pulling the plugs to investigate. Possibly replacing wires I did not replace on the last spark plug swap, and possibly replacing plugs. Hoping not to find evidence of fouled plugs or oil passing through and burning up. I really want to get some better performance with something before I turn it over to a hired hand. Also am really hoping to not to find that the pump or lines are toast

New 140 amp Summit alternator arrived today and the install went without a hitch. As I posted previously I added a separate 4 awg charge wire (overkill but had a bunch of it) in addition to the factory charge wire. Also added a terminal block by battery to accept the new charge wire and the fan cable without everything being connected to the battery terminal. Basically maintained the factory 3-wire setup but added a separate charge wire.

Test run went great! Previously when the fans kicked in the voltage dropped from around 14.5V to around 13.5 and slowly drifted lower. Now the fans kick on and the voltage never changes.

Need to clean up the wiring a bit and fab a cover for the terminal block but happy with the upgrade.

Ok, good to know. Is there any change to how it idles as opposed to before?

Probably good to go back to basics. Check for vacuum leaks, check timing, etc. Can you visualize your accelerator pump shot with the air cleaner off? I can’t remember what carb you have on there.

It's TBI. 1987. I got some CRC Throttle Body and Air Intake cleaner as I heard fuel injection cleaner works different than what TBI needs. I haven't tried before but I have seen quick clip videos of the throttle cable being pulled at the air intake and the jets on the throttle body pumping the fuel down, so I just need to do it. Any advice on best method for cleaning up the throttle body and injectors?

When ignited and just in park( warming up) idle is normal. If I give it some gas while parked and not in gear it starts to idle a bit rough and shakes the truck just a bit more as well.

We built this motor over 20 years ago and I wanted to pull it apart to check it out, clean, paint, etc. Took me over an hour to pull the pan off as the 1 piece seal had RTV on both sides and I was trying to keep the pan rails straight and not damage the pan paint. Motor looks good though.

Take the air cleaner off and look at the spray pattern when running, also kinda sounds like something a bad MAP sensor or TPS/IACV could do don't forget the basics timing, cap, rotor, plugs, wires, and coil, check the vacuum advance diaphragm and springs in the dizzy don't leave out the ECU give the harness a wiggle test that's one thing about the early fuel injection the electrics kinda suck to work on your just going to have to test every system till you find something wrong
