Hey guys, just finishing my olds diesel to sbc 350 in my 1981 sierra and I noticed two vacuum lines that I’m not sure where they need to go. I’m assuming the small trans line goes to the manifold port on the back of the intake and thought these went to the carb but there’s two lines so not sure, if anyone knows what to do with these that would really help

When you say the small trans line I’m assuming you mean the line coming from the transmission modulator. Correct me if I’m wrong. Then yes, it goes to the port on the back of the intake. Where does the other line come from?

Yes it is a steel line up until the top of the passenger valve cover and I was going to run rubber hose from there to the intake if that seems alright?

Yup, that’s exactly what I did. My swap was a 6.2 diesel to a 350. Very similar to your swap

Ya there is a lot alike, what’s your opinion on what to do with the cruise control vacuum lines, is it possible to make that one line and run it to the carb?

Unfortunately I can’t help here. My cruise control doesn’t work so I just pulled all the lines going to it to clean things up a bit. I’m assuming your talking about the two lines your holding in your picture?

I think it’s because it was originally a diesel, seems to have twice as much **** when it comes to wires and stuff

Ya I’m actually not sure if mine works or not as I only drove it a few times before doing the swap so will leave it for now. What’s your brake booster situation? I don’t see any traditional brake booster like the gas trucks came with.

Original hydroboost brakes. No vacuum needed. I’ve never seen any traditional booster on a diesel either.

Mines leaking a little and I should probably rebuild/replace it soon.

Just curious, is your truck a 1/2 ton or 3/4?
