I do that, the wiper blades and then clean with Rain-X glass cleaner. Traditional Rain-X, I've never had good luck with

I've used all three at various times over the years. I just stick to the washer fluid because it seems to do the most for the smallest amount of effort.

I’ll have to try the rain x washer juice again. I don’t recall it being very effective although it may have been diluted with regular blue juice.
Never tried the wipers.
I just use the actual rain x. If I apply it properly it seems to last about a week in our (almost constant) rain. Most of the time I turn on the wipers, give a couple squirts each side usually while it’s raining. That lasts a few days.
I drive 2-3 hours in rainy traffic daily and have grown to dislike the constant wipers back n forth. Rather look through beaded water on the windshield than the constant back n forth and adjusting wiper speed all the time.
Never used the stuff before moving to rainy western Washington. Except on my old square body snowplow Blazer way back when, when the wiper motor died. Circa early 90s.

If I buy a vehicle that's had regular fluid in it, or using a work truck where someone used standard fluid on the last fill, I'll let it get low and then do a complete fill of the Rain-X. First time it's raining or I need the washers, I'll run the washers for several cycles and I typically start to see results right away.

I'll note that while it does let the water bead up, it's not very useful at low speeds. However it is very handy at 35+ speeds when the water just beads up and blows off.

Oh, I've also found that the Squarebody trucks don't have proper aerodynamics to fully take advantage of the beading/blowing action, lol.

No they don’t.
I thought it was the visor on the blue truck that interrupted the airflow but it’s the same on the 77. It works but not as good as a flatter slope windshield.
