Hey guys,
The bench seat in my 86 Silverado does not "lock" into position on the passenger side. I found a spring on the floor under the seat and see how the locking mechanism attached to the cable is supposed to work but have no idea where the spring attaches. Is there sketch floating around or if can someone explain (maybe have pics?) of how the spring is supposed to attach?

Thanks

If it's a long spring, it's to help the seat slide forward.

Usually when one side doesn't lock, it's because the little lock lever is stuck and the lock tab can't extend into the track.

Both long springs are still intact that allow the seat to slide (as shown in the pics firetruck posted), I believe the spring that I found lying under the seat holds the locking mechanism in place somehow?

That would be the spring visible in FireTrucks's top photo, attached to the track on the right.

Well ****, think I have the same problem. Passenger side won't lock in.
Can't seem to find a diagram or a replacement spring. Everything is leading me to seat bottom springs.
Where's the best place to find a replacement for this?

Try an Ace Hardware, they have a pretty good variety of springs.
