In 1972, My childhood friend Leon went to Anchorage to work and bought this truck from a logging company. They had used it to carry chainsaws, and a place to get out of the cold. There was a small wood stove, and some chairs inside. Leon subsequently sold this to his brother Leroy, and he hitched up to Anchorage and drove it down the Alcan, which was dirt back then. Later Leroy drove it back to Anchorage to work, and once again drove this down to Selah WA where they lived. Then it was used to haul band equipment around Central WA to the next Gig. Around 1978 it was parked never to run again. In the early 2000's I traded Leroy for this truck, and redid the brakes, did some painting, but fam and life left it on the back burner. Here it is today, and I an a little old to tackle another project. From the pictures, you can see how cool this is.....and roomy! It is a 1955 1st series 3800, (one ton). I am selling it as I have to many projects and my age, (now 71,) It goes to auction Oct 2nd RL Liquidators. I had hoped to make it a cherry rig, fix up the inside with cedar, and all the overlander comforts. I am sorry to see it go, a part of my past, but think someone will some day fix this up.
