Hello all,
Am new to the forum and have owned my k5 for 2 years now and have looked all over forum and rest of internet but cannot find any info on how outer header seal attaches to top, does anyone have pics or instructions on how the full top rubber seals fit onto 73-75 k5 blazer top, more specifically the outer header seal. Have bought all new seals from LMC but some do not seem to fit,(more likely I cannot figure out how they fit) not sure if I am doing something wrong or parts are not correct oem spec. I have a 1973 K5 Blazer and P/O made some custom rubber seals that never really worked too well. Would appreciate any information regarding hard top rubber seals, although the main one I cannot figure out is the outer header seal, which installs to the front of the top. The inner header seal that installs to the body, top of window frame, I have figured out.
appreciate any insight.
Thank you

I think there's only a few people here with full top K5's, it may take a bit before someone has an answer.

All I can find is from prp website.

Outer Header Seal

Mounts on the front of the shell with weatherstrip adhesive glue (not included) and presses against the cab weatherstrip. This single piece is for the double wall models. It's made from high quality ozone resistant EPDM rubber from the original specs.

I just remembered that @WFarm has a full top K5, possibly with some insight.

The bulb seal fits over the pinch weld the front header seal I believe glues on and has a screw in each end as shown. I haven't had my top off in over a decade so I'm foggy in the memory department.

thank you very much everyone for your replies. @RaisedK5, your input is most appreciated, and is what makes the most sense and fits the best, the description from precision and LMC where I bought the seals, was really confusing me. Can I ask where you got the above illustration from?

I will post pics once I install all seals.

Thanks again

In the Reference Library forum there is a sticky post with all the service manuals. Pretty sure the 73 is there. I know the 74 (where that pic is from) and the 75 supplement are. I actually have the 74 and 75 manuals but the PDFs are super convenient print what you need and if you get them greasy, print new ones. And there are also wiring diagrams in a post there. You'll need them eventually.

Thank you for that, I had seen the wiring diagrams, but missed the parts illustration catalog. hopefully this should solve most of my questions for the seals. Thank you all for your help.
