My 15x8 rally wheel with a Cooper Cobra 275/60 on a digital scale was 60.8 lbs. Tire Rack is pretty accurate and lists that tire at 30lbs even. So that would mean 30.8 pounds for the rally wheel with center cap, and trim ring. Bare wheel would be probably just under 30. Should be in the ballpark.

A 15x8 Corvette rally wheel is 25.8 lbs.

K

And that 25.8 lbs is no fun when it's 100+ degrees outside and you are carrying one all the way across the state fairgrounds, from the swap meet, to the spectator parking lot.

Things like that, are why Dad had a swap meet wagon. One time, many years ago, at the Decatur, Texas swap meet, I carried a genuine LT-1 Corvette aluminum intake manifold across the Wise County fair grounds(where the meet is held) all the way out to the last row of the parking lot, against the fence along the highway...it had snowed the night before so there was lots of mud. That piece of expensive aluminum was getting plenty heavy by the time I got to our car. After that experience, we got the wagon.

We are not here for Corvettes, the picture above shows truck rallies.
*sigh*

Clearly.

Corvettes are always allowed to enter the conversation when discussing any vintage GM product, per the first law of "my buddy's square came with a Corvette motor".

They are basically the same wheel except for the shape of the decorative holes. Forgive me for assuming you would be able to make that jump mentally, and adjust for your intended use of the data.

Excuse my naivete(AKA inexperience) why would the weight of a steel rim on a big steel block you are driving down the road matter? Racing I get ..truck rim?

I assumed the OP was trying to figure out the cost to ship, in which case those last few fractions of a pound are critical (especially when multiplied by 4).

But - let's find out.

Aw right: I had to put batteries in the scale, and then unbury a wheel and drag it in from the barn using the garden wagon as HotwheelsBurban suggested. I only weighed one wheel, instead of four (or five) which would have allowed us to have some kind of rudimentary statistical understanding of mean, range and/or standard deviation. Sorry for the delay but it's what happens when you have to create instead of using existing data on hand.

A 15x8 Truck Rally weighs 26 lbs even. Steel wheel only; does not include tire, valve stem assembly, cap, trim ring or lug nuts.

But - I am kinda hesitant to post, since all my stuff is the 5 hole 2wd version and the photo clearly shows 6 hole 4wd. I would expect the 6 hole wheel to be incrementally lighter, in view of the additional lug nut hole and (I assume) larger center pilot hole.

Edit: -and the size of the decorative slots. Bah - You're right: probably apples and oranges.
