HI everyone! Finally after 14 months of waiting on the shop, I got a 327 rebuilt and dropped into my GMC 81 Square short bed. I put the 250 in when I bought it 3 years ago trading it out for the junk 4.1L with the integral intake on the head. I think that motor had probably leaked oil from day 1! The 250 I put in was running ok, just not enough power to make it on the highway. Bought a 327- serial # if I remember came back to a 1965 that had a manual trans mounted on it. It is bored 60 over with a Mellinor cam and an Edelbrock higher rise manifold. Now I just need to get all of the brackets etc for the AC, Power steering, Alternator. Any suggestions would be helpful

Well you got lucky,it's got later heads on it,so you can use all 1968 up stuff. Probably easiest is go to the bone yard and pull the entire front off of a 4.3,a 305,or a 350 engine with serpentine belt and optioned the way you want your truck. Get it all brackets, nuts, bolts, tensioners, idlers, balancer, alternator, power steering pump, and fan. Second choice would be same deal but an earlier Vbelt vehicle. Good used anymore is better than maybe okay new/reman. All water pumps, pulleys, etc. are not the same so get it all from 1 car write down the VIN.
