I've got an 86 K20, with the engine build I ended up buying a pulley and belt kit that utilized an older style pump that necessitated new hoses as well. With that I have to run adapters from flare style to the oring style on the gearbox.

I am having issues getting one of the adapters to seal completely and the input seal on the gearbox is leaking anyway. So my question is does anyone know if an older gearbox with the flare style fittings will bolt in?

I believe they will bolt in, but hopefully you can find someone to respond who knows for sure. I swapped the crossmember from an 84 C10 into my 70, and the 84 box directly bolted to my frame. No mods.

Swap the fitting from the old pump to the new pump then use original hoses. The fitting unscrews out of the back of the pump.

Any squarebody gearbox with interchange, except a 4x4 needs one from a 4x4 and a 2WD needs one from a 2wd.
I changed out a gearbox not long ago, installing one from a 76 K10 onto an 85K10. The fittings were different, however I was fortunate enough to have the matching pump and lines to swap over with it.
