I have a '77 GMC Sierra Grande 4x4 short bed half ton. Looking to lift it 4, maybe 6" without blocks, only interested in a proper leaf spring lift.
But none of the lift kits I'm seeing are complete. Some have more parts, some have less. What all is REALLY needed to lift these trucks? I am leaning more toward the 4" option with 33x12.50x15s on stock 8" rallye wheels.
I'd like to get an absolutely complete kit, with front and rear springs, shocks, bump stops, steering stabilizer, transfer case drop and any necessary parts to get it indexed properly, all the necessary shims for pinion angle, longer drive shafts that are designed specific for the lift kit, all shackles, u bolts, all the nuts/washers, GREASABLE bushings, steering arms/drag links, sway bar drop and all necessary hardware for it, steering stabilizers, alignment parts, longer brake hoses, steering box brace.... the whole shebang. EVERY single bit and piece that I need to get the truck lifted without any problems or having to order more parts 50 times. The truck will be 99.9% on road, but when/if I ever do have to go off road, I want it to work properly. Do I really need all of those parts? Does a truly complete kit like this even exist? So much misinformation and conflicting information out there. Thanks!
