Mastercraft 31's or 32'

Looking at Mastercraft AXT2's in 31x10.5/15 or 32x11.5/15. Thoughts? I know it's only ~ 1" taller and wider, thought I'd ask though. $65 difference for 4. Currently have the 31's

Finding a replacement readily available if I have a flat is the only reason I can see against the 32".

Going with mastercraft cuz that's what's in my budget.

Not exactly an answer but I put Mastercraft CXT's in a 285 on my 05 gmc 1500. Just a little more aggressive then the AXTs. They have a little over 10k miles on them still look brand new. They dig in really good and have almost no road noise. Seem to be a good tire so far!

I always go with the biggest that fits. So... 32's!

I'd like to get 33's but I think I might have clearance issues. I do have the coil over shocks on the front that lifted it 1.5-2"' though.

Is there a way to measure for clearance w/o actually mounting them? You'd think so, but not sure....and hell for that matter that might blow my budget up too much.

With stock type wheels, 33x12.50's needed very minor clearancing on the lower fender corners on my bone stock suspension '77 K5. Very minor trimming, but it also never saw hard use offroad.

Front or rear trimming? Occasional "oh ****" abuse while out hunting, other than that...daily driver. Saw on another forum the rear front corners might need to be trimmed. If that was the case, with me not having any rake, I'm guessing that might eliminate that.

Think I've got 10" rims. I saw your reply in another post. I'll keep digging on that. Waiting on taxes, so I've got some time to research. And call the shop and see how much they are to save me research time if they're out of budget lol.

The rear of the front fender is trimmed a little. The PO is the one that installed the tires and did the trimming, he also offroaded it some. I only ever street drove the thing so it never rubbed for me. The rims are 15x8.5 with roughly 4.5" backspacing. I never measured the actual OD of the tire, but I can if you would like. I can also get a picture of the trimming.

When you've got the time sure take some pics and measure. And if you don't care show a shot of the vehicle so I can see the stance. lol if I remember correctly, you've got more than one square. Next few days...weeks is fine.

I think you may have it backwards. A narrower rim would cause the tire sidewalks t be squeezed together more, hence popping the center of the tread up more, and causing center tread wear. Much like an over inflated tire.

Overall diameter will be roughly the same, but the wider rim will put the track width a little further out, making it more likely to rub. My K5 has been parked in the barn for 5+ years, but I can dig up a picture showing the stance.

Id go with 32s. I had them on 10" factory rallys on my unlifted truck and i never noticed any issues. (Was years ago though.) As far as coursers id go mxt...good tire!

Don't see too many 32" tires these days. I'd say go for it based on that alone. But yeah realistically, 31s fit my stock suspension no problem with room to spare, 33s fit with TONS of extra room with the 2" lift. I bet 32s would be fine stock, and would look awesome. Always go bigger if they both work the same
