    Keep in mind that both Deaver and Alcan make the softest leaf springs and use many more than 7 springs per pack. Each springer is much thinner though. You can call either company and tell them what you want and they will set you up with a leaf spring ride that’s darn near coilover comfort.

    I would advise to brace the area around the front seat, rear bolt holes. The way the seat frame is so short and the seat overhang adds a ton of stress to that area. Typically stress cracks will form.

    For an 8 lug front, the hardest part to source will be the backing plate. No known aftermarket repops at this time. You’ll need a large bearing spindle and bearings/seals, rotor/hub. Basically you’ll need the parts for a 3/4 ton. Your existing 1/2 ton locking hubs will fit the 3/4 ton.

    All turbo 350 are 27 spline output. Check how far the output shaft sticks out. 2.5 inches is correct for the 208. The 203 and 205 are 7/8” from the back of the case.     That there is a 208. I wouldn’t buy any u joints on assumptions. Get a set of calipers and measure what you have and buy accordingly. We’ve all seen weird and strange things on these trucks that typically get blamed on a po, but the factory did some odd stuff too.
