Correct. Full time hubs weren't used after the '79 model year. At any rate, you can replace full time drive slugs with manual locking...

Are you certain they’re all time? ‘83 probably has automatic hubs, they lock themselves in when you pull the transfer case into four...

You can tell by looking at the old gasket, those holes are in an area of the gasket that doesn't get used on your specific carb.
