I rebuilt mine with parts I bought and new rubbers. Never again! What a PITA! I had some serious time, cussing, and drinking in mine by the end and I will say they came out o.k. Not worth the effort IMHO. Send them to Precision and be happy paying the bill.

I would take that to a interior shop and let them make you happy. Something custom and unique to you, but not stock would make you and them happy.

I would have a real tire guy put a patch on the inside and glue the outside with that vulcanising glue they have. Also keep track of that tire and never use on a steering axle.

Sort of off topic, but the young adults had my avatar drill rig in a bind and jerked it with a junk chain. Driver of the rig $hit himself as the half of chain came through the windshield. No one was hurt thank God, but they went to summer school on safety training.

Back in the day we had a tool for that. Flat looking thing with a pointy hook on one side. It went up behind the trim and the hook pulled the spring down out of the edge trim spring hooks into.
