I had this problem in my van and it was a blown head gasket. The oil flowed into the heater core and blew a hole in it then leaked into the cab.

As a professional audio installer for over 25yrs I would highly discourage this. Do some more research and find an aftermarket unit you like there are SO many choices. My 70 C10 is getting a full custom dash with the new Alpine Halo 9 but you do not need that high end to still have every feature...
Great reply, I'm an audio guy and paint plastic all the time. The main part here in AZ is the degreaser. With our heat the plastic off gasses bad, so proper cleaning and cleaning and cleaning is a must.
It sounds like my factory "lift" on my 89 Suburban, washboard roads are ridiculously rough and jarring and it almost rubs with 33" tires even though there is almost no articulation in the front.
