I attached some stainless screw studs with JB weld on some of the door trim pieces that I always check after I slam the door shut, haha I’m not sure if those are the same clips as the one I had but I’m done with the mold if you want to give it a shot -

Halfway there...and livin' on a prayer... I used some clear Elmer's glue with a drop of dish soap and food coloring to "liquid mask" the lettering... Why is it when you see the repop at $XX you say "Are you crazy??!" and then after you have way too much time restoring the original you say...- scenic760

Quick update...I was able to clean the plastic up pretty well with plastic polish made for headlight lenses... Now the trick would appear to be getting the paint applied around the lettering without bleeding in..do you think the hot glue masking would work for the plastic? I also thought it...- scenic760

Door weatherstrip
That would probably help! The door side lip of the weatherstripping is below the top edge of the door, is it supposed to sit on top? If so, I think I would need to bend the mounting tabs towards the outside of the door more? -

I hear ya Hucked....but where did the red go?! You have owned it since new? I have seen emblems that are still red with a lot worse sun damage done to the plastic? It's definitely the backside of silver paint on the plastic and the GMC logo feels like silicone..- scenic760

Another day, another question! I went to put the weather stripping seals on and nothing seems to be lining up 100%... It's my fault as I made the mistake of having the body shop remove all the old rubber for paint and dropped of a new complete Precision kit to replace everything. I picked it... -

Oh wow, so the silver paint is really just a faded red?? I wonder if it was metallic because the backside looks very silvery as well?? Or....was the plastic badge red tinted, silver painted on the back and all of the red pigment washed out of the plastic? That seems more likely? Kinda feel...- scenic760
