I was able use my psc power steering pump with the 2500hd alternator bracket. The 8.1 oem power steering pump uses three bolts on the face and an extra bracket in the back. I swapped the studs and bracket from the oem pump onto the psc no problems. Also got the Sanderson bb-8 headers test fitted...- Lu Blunt

The aftermarket Dart intake to run a carburetor is a cool option but the intake is always back ordered and sells out immediately. The space between the 8.1 and the firewall is tight but not impossible. To me it looks easier to replace crank sensor in the squarebody than a gmt800. I installed a new acdelco crank sensor with anti seize while the engine was out. Also did egr delete and adapted the oil pressure sensor to use...- Lu Blunt

I removed the transmission so I could lower the 8.1 onto the motor mounts. Today I got the new flywheel new clutch and trans all bolted together- Lu Blunt

Slow train slow life but I’m back to work on the dually. Just can’t give up on the old truck. Got handful of parts for the swap and a list of things to order. The 350 looks small in the engine bay. Question for C30 Dually owners.
One benefit of open differential is when you’re driving and the rear tire breaks traction, only one tire is going to spin. The other tire will have no power spinning it and will keep its traction helping the truck to drive straight. If you break traction with a locker, both rear tires will spin...- Lu Blunt

I went thru everything on my 1979 k30 3+3 before I fixed the death wobble. A good alignment shop will be able to tell if your steering has too much play or if the leaf spring bushings are too worn to stay in spec.
