Towing a diesel 2500 Burb on a 17’ flatbed trailer

I would think if you pushed the burb as far up on the trailer as possible, then threw the trailer ramps in the back of the tow vehicle (since they will need to come off anyway) you should be okay. I'd be worried about a panic stop thought without a front rail on the trailer. Maybe try to...

    Father-Daughter Shop Day

Very nice WFarm! I have my daughters in the shop with me when I can (14 & 9), and I enjoy every minute of it. It looks like you've taught her well, doing her own maintenance.

Kobalt vs dewalt for a sawzall

@bigcountry78 Not sure if you have one close by, and maybe Lowe's has these offers as well, but right now at Home Depot, they have some killer prices on batteries for Dewalt. Buy a 2 battery kit with charger... get a free tool, kind of deal. I got a 4ah / 6ah, and palm router I've been looking...

    Huck's daily - 2005 Z71 crewcab

Coming along nicely. I agree the NBS is a great generation for the truck, and although I put 249k on my '01 Silverado, I would still take my '15 over it. However my daughter is now in the market for a truck (she's 14, and I won't let her daily Daisy) so we're looking for an OBS or a NBS. Keep...

What have you done to your square lately??

I have long glass packs, and just dumped right before the axle as well (long bed) with long tube headers, and I love the sound. Not terribly loud, but you can still hear the 80's when you get on it. LOL.

Biggest jobs you have completed in the shortest amount of time.

Mine was not long ago at all. And it was actually on my square. Found out a day in January this year that the oil pump drive shaft that's driven by the distributor, was broken, because a screw got sucked into the oil pump (pickup tube fell off). This was about 1 or 2 in the afternoon. Dad and I...

Engine died when driving and won't start - Coil melted

I'd bet it's the Ignition Control Module. Same thing you described happened to me. Now I carry a spare AC Delco one in my toolbox on the truck, with the screwdriver and heat sink grease to replace it on the side of the road if need be.

    Where to get quadrajet rebuilt?

This is a very timely thread. I was just having a mechanic buddy look at my carb this weekend. He did a better job at tuning it that I did, but still recommended Quadrajet Power as well. He told me even though I rebuilt my carb, and it's running descent, I should still call him and give him my...

Looking At Buying 1997 Cheyenne C1500 As Daily Driver Feedback Please

To play devil's advocate here... just because it doesn't have a "Carfax" history, doesn't mean that the history is bad. I have NEVER had any service done at a stealership on any of my vehicles (several purchased new) unless it was for warranty repair. I do however had a computer spreadsheet...

    Blower fan/relay

The purple wire hooks directly into the blower motor. On my truck ('82) it is the only plug that is on the actual blower motor. The ground, is just wire from the blower motor housing / frame to the firewall.

    New clapped out ‘87 350

I think for $500, you're going to get away with a stock rebuild and some recommended machine work, that's it. I spent almost $2k on a "budget" 305 for my truck. Not high hp numbers. Just a mild cam, flat top pistons, a slight (.008) head decking job, and quality head work with a valve job. That...

    Show your sick toy !!!

Here are a couple of mine. Had to edit... the last picture, the center camper trailer isn't mine. It's my Mom's, and I just store it for her because I have the room.
