"Overheating" --> Now Fuel Delivery Issue --> Dirty Tank?

I think I have it fixed. All this was used by a 3 inch peice of hose. Which was 7 years old. Ran the truck for a while with no problems. Thanks for all your help and suggestions

This sounds simpler than dropping and switching tanks. May also swap left and right inputs to the switching valve to make sure that is not the problem.

"Overheating" --> Now Fuel Delivery Issue --> Dirty Tank?

I've got a '87 and up baffled tank waiting for the LS swap. Am I correct that the mechanical pump sending unit will fit in the newer baffled tanks?

"Overheating" --> Now Fuel Delivery Issue --> Dirty Tank?

Added a temp sensor and hooked it up to the dash gauge. Started the truck up and ran it in the driveway for a while. The gauge rose to about 210 and stayed right about there. Didn't want to risk running and getting stuck. When running on the driver's tank, the fuel in the filter is really...

"Overheating" --> Now Fuel Delivery Issue --> Dirty Tank?

I didn't look yet, but it's the mechanical pump. I thought they were all two ports : one in and one out

"Overheating" --> Now Fuel Delivery Issue --> Dirty Tank?

Thanks all! This got a much bigger response than I expected. I'm running a mechanical fuel pump from a dual tank system. with a recent oil change after the problem started, the oil did not smell like gas I have a fuel pressure regulator set to 3 or 4 psi - I'll bump it up a bit and see what...

"Overheating" --> Now Fuel Delivery Issue --> Dirty Tank?

New or worsening problem with my '84 K10 (350 SBC) that I would describe as overheating, but I don't think that it is: After 20 minutes of local around town cruising or shortly after getting off the highway and hitting the local roads, the truck sputters, dies and won't restart. The glass fuel...

Electric Fan Runs After Shutting Off Engine: Where To Start

Thanks All - this will have to wait to the weekend to troubleshoot. Let the truck sit overnight and replaced the fuses and all was fine. Haven't had the chance to run it and see what happens.

Electric Fan Runs After Shutting Off Engine: Where To Start

Truck sat for a while - I only used it sporadically over the winter, but would start, run and stop with no problems. Today, I took it for a longer highway drive and when a got to work, the fans kept running, which they normally do not do even when the engine is hot. Pulled the fuses, did what...

    Flashers Do Not Always Flash

@SirRobyn0 That generally was what I thought. Today was much cooler and the flashers worked on the 45 minute drive to work. I am going to skip the test and just get a flasher that is good with LED bulbs, because eventually I want to switch all the "little" bulbs out to LED

Dome Light Comes on with Headlights

I suspect that the answer will be "check your grounds." I'm not looking forward to that. Dome light works as it should - open the door and the light comes on (original switches stick a bit, but his the button once or twice and on they come.) I just noticed that when I turn one the headlights...

    Flashers Do Not Always Flash

My flashers don't always flash. When I first got the truck, they worked fine, but over time they got more problematic. More likely than not, they will flash at the begining of the first trip of the day and then at some point, the turn signal lights will light, but not flash. I don't know if...

    Driver side window removal.

Swear words and the uncomfortable feeling that you may drop the window at any time. I have power windows, but I think the procedure is roughly the same. Roll the window down and remove the rear track from inside the door and the felt trim all around. I removed the wing window - this might not...

    How to achieve tighter steering?

I am going to Borgeson route - its not quite $300. Its cheaper (I think) and less work than crossover steering. The Jeep intermediate shaft is probably cheaper but I don't have a pick and pull or any good yards near me. Check out this video for the shaft and steering bearing replacement:
