Check and make sure you do not have a vacuum line popped off. I've had that happen and it has done the same thing to me.

The holes were already punched. I just removed the rivets & slid the shackle back 4". Pic is still the "52 spring but shackle relocated.

Of course, vacuum leaks can be sudden as well as restricted carb circuits. Need to check both. Although I doubt it's the problem check...
