Steering Column

I need to replace my column and wanted to pick up a decent one from the used parts place. Does anyone happen to know the years that would work as a direct replacement for 85 GMC 1500 4x2? I saw someone used a column out of a 91 but if I could come up with a range might have better luck find one.

My steering wheel and turn single are both floppy plus the Hi-Beam switch no longer works so instead of giving them a little blue pill figured I would just replace the column.

i think 84 to 87 truck or up to 91 blazer and sub should fit.

maybe as far back as 81 but not sure

Buy a whole truck with a column for as much as they want for one. Sheesh.

I found a guy on craigslist that tears down old Chevys for parts. I got a whole steering column for $75 and a cluster for $25.

No need to worry about it now. I got side swipe today so I am sure the insurance will total it. Truck is still drivable but got nailed all the way down the passenger side.
