Something odd about this 78 silverado K20 4x4 in a salvage auction

Though it's 32 years old and a lot can happen, it looks to be quite original. It's a Silverado, yet instead of stainless trim on the sides, it has a red, white and blue stripe. A red, white and blue bowtie. it does appear to have had a 2bbl installed at one point (VIN R: 400 - 4bbl). Probably not some sort of special edition, but odd to me, none the less.

if its 4x4, its not a C20.

i've seen those stripes before, but never paid any attention to the year of the truck.

GM did similar stripes on various models in the '70s and sold them as a "Spirit of America" package.

Whoops, K20.

Gimme a break, it's been a long week. :yucky:

Spirit of America would make sense. I didn't think those were around in 1978 though.

I bet they were in 78, especially with a 4bbl 400! Everyone wanted Pintos and Vegas and Chevettes by then LOL
