fuel mix screw settings

Have a 1978 454 with a q jet, but has NO BALLS, and its wont go wfo without bogging, just wondering how far I need to have my fule mix screws in or out, I have them at 6.5 turns right now, any help is good help

Those mixture screws are only for idle. Make sure the secondaries aren't binding, and the metering rods are not sticking. Maybe a rebuild is in order
. But check to make sure your distributor advance weights and vac advance are working before tearing into anything else.

Ok thx... im just going to get a new carb... do you think a 750 will be too much??

Ok I was going to get a holley 750 double pumpper from a buddy for like 30 bucks
