Good to be back... I left off the last project "mini me" , as the steering shaft came off when turning on a maiden voyage and the experience shook my girl's confidence.
Instead of trying to convince her, She wanted a sub $1500 vehicle oh her own and decided on this. I am getting it up to spec for smog and reg. Thought I'd show the journey. Been working on it for avout two weeks. And I dont have to rush mini me now.

Every household needs a car like that just for a commuter car. The best thing I did was patch that 04 Kia up and drive it back from Cali to OK and get it legal here. Cold AC, Hot Heat, Power Locks and Windows with a fair sounding AM/FM Stereo getting 28-32 mpg and up to 133,000 miles on it now from the 110,000 is had when I drove it back. The money I've saved in gas is crazy. Would be even more crazy if I were paying prices for gas. It's not pretty but it runs damn good. No cool factor about it but it comfortable for the most part and so far dependable.

I'd admit though, I'd take a Yota over a Kia any day of the week. I don't care for the Zero Clearance timing belt engines. Not sure about that Tercel engine, but I know the later Corollas are actual timing chain engines and NOT Zero Clearance. I snap a timing belt in this Kia, it's going over the scale as I won't go through the expense of a new head or engine just to have it happen again.

So I broke two cardinal sins and bought a car at night And In the rain. We left but by the time the we got there the sun set as traffic was horrendous around dusk. Also the test drive could really cut loose due to bumper to bumper. I got it to 35mph twice and the engine and trans ran good. Drove it like 15 minutes amd got it for $1100.

My girl had looked at focus and Saturn's but I was thinking anything in this price range would need work and preferred toyotas reliability.
I followed my girlfriend, but Almost all the way home, stopped at a light she gave me a ni good look, and of course the check engine came on.

Think this could cause a misfire? Nastiest plugs ive ever seen, and the guy said he changed em... Ended up changing plugs wires, coils, and sparks better now.
