Air in fuel lines after sitting over night on 6.2

The later diesel trucks had the LP (lift pump) located on the frame rail, in about the location at the back cab door or maybe back a slight bit more. Easy to get to and to maintain (replace). Also, the integrity of the mechanical pump can be checked by hooking a FP test gauge to the outlet hose...

Air in fuel lines after sitting over night on 6.2

On top of the injector pump, short 1/4” hose shaped like an upside down U. Remove that hose and replace it with a length of 1/4” fuel rated clear plastic hose. Start the engine and watch for air intrusion. Might appear like a white foamy substance while the engine is running. If there is air...

Straight 8 Buick With Belt Driven FI

I didnt know that about the Buick engines. I had seen the engine in an old Buick at the shop where my dad worked. That was back in the days when I was first becoming aware of different performance options.

Straight 8 Buick With Belt Driven FI

Back in the late 60s, I had a 1953 Pontiac with a flathead straight 8 and an automatic transmission. That thing would fly.

Straight 8 Buick With Belt Driven FI

I did some screen shots from a fake book page about the straight eight Buick engines. It did not say what year this engine is but IIRC, the last year for any of the GM straight eight engines was 1953 or possibly 1954.

I am so happy that this all got resolved in a proper manner. If anyone knows who this Arley B. Ospina is then I suggest, putting together a good old fashioned blanket party for that feller.

    Choke Problems on SBC

It is all back together. Before dismantling, brought the timing marks to 8* BTDC, marked the distributor how it all sets. Got it back together. Set the choke, Nick twists the switch to start, boom, not even one revolution and it is running. Turned on the timing light, he Nick, look at this...
