Picked up a used Weather Guard toolbox today. It’s light enough to remove when I need the space but gives me secure storage for stuff the rest of the time. This is the “deep” version so it barely fits. I woulda preferred the standard size but it was a deal I couldn’t pass up.
Now that the bedliner is in and (mostly) cured I bolted in my new tiedowns
That’s water pooled/spotted in the pics. Monstaliner recommends misting the surface after initial setup to help the curing process.
Friday I scuffed and prepped the bed. I bought one of those nylon cup brushes that are raved about for bedliner prep and I am not a fan. I ended up just doing it by hand with some aggressive scotch-brite type pads that were included in the Monstaliner kit. It took me about an hour and a half...
There were some holes drilled in the bed already that I’d guess had eye bolts through ‘em at some point. I hammered the deformed holes flat, drilled to 7/16”, drilled a few more holes and installed stainless rivnuts to hold tiedown hooks. I can say the youtube “bolt/washer/nut” combo was a PITA...
The reason the lighter didn't work was the wire to it was tapped shoddily and the socket was kinda beat up so when I went to fix it I added a relay along with a new socket. I can't think of a single reason why I'd want it to work with the key "off" and I know that at some point I'll leave...
31x10.5 on 15x8
As far as I can tell I see no indications of it being lifted BUT these trucks aren't my strong suit
Same size tire but more of a street tread on factory steel wheels with 1.5" spacers (they were on it when I bought it last month)
I had 'em on my ex-2010 Raptor and was real happy. Relatively quiet and comfortable on the highway with pretty good grip in the snow/dirt/mud. They aren't horribly priced either so they were an easy choice.
The stock steel wheels had 1.5" spacers AND bargain tires so I'm sure my ride was suffering a bit. Not sure if the spacers were required to make the steelies fit or if they were added for stance. I've only had the truck for a few weeks so I haven't gone over everything yet. Anyway, today I...
Try driving it with the fuel cap off. Just a guess that since it running normally for a few and then starving for fuel the cap may not be venting properly.
This was the K10 and the F100 (straight 6/4spd) it was traded for.
Truth be told I probably lean more towards Fords BUT I like everything “cool” including some imports. I was on the hunt for another F100 4x4 but finding a nice one isn’t easy. There are way more nice K10/K20 for “reasonable”...
