Which headers to buy?
There are so many out there, the flow tech listed above in the link are good from what I hear. It all depends on what you want to spend. The best ones I ever had were Doug Thorley Tri Y's but they cost a lot more than the flow tech headers.- 87gmcburb

I just converted my 87 from TBI to carb and using the same carb (AVS2) at 4 psi with an air gap manifold. I have used basically the same set up on my last few burbs as well and even warm I still give it a pump or 2 when re-starting. Just the nature of a carb vs TBI. Color blind! Burgundy or Maroon?
You should have the GM color code on your tag in the glove box. Yes it looks Burgundy, the code should be 77D for an '87 -
Trim codes 77B and 77I
It looks like you have the exact color package as my 87 burb. You have 77D interior which is Burgundy and 72U exterior which is 72 apple red (I have 90 Steel as the 2 tone lower color). Many time you can find the color marked on the backside of the velour door panel insert or even the backside... -

Door Seal to big
The seals from LMC, Classic etc... are all aftermarket and fit poorly. If you are looking for actual OEM fit you need to contact Mr A' Chevy truck parts. HIs name is Jon Addington and he is the only place I have ever found actual OEM fit. He uses NOS seals and has them reproduced, this is as... -
Name brand or budget carb?
Some don't like Edelbrock, but my last 3 burbs as well as my current 87 which i just swapped from TBI to carb, I have had much better luck with edelbrock than the Q jet or holley's. I just put a Edelbrock QVS2 and so far it is the best set up on a carb 350 yet. There are generic Q Jets out there...- 87gmcburb

Remove accessories from this old truck?
I had the same running boards, I pulled them off the first weekend I got the truck. They are "butt ugly: in my opinion. :) Same goes with the bug shield. Just because something was in style in the 80s does not make it look good today- 87gmcburb
